Afi qualified as a solicitor in 2006 and joined Gillen De Alwis Solicitors as a Consultant in January 2017. Afi, a senior lawyer at the firm, has previously worked as a head of department at several London City law firms within the Residential and Commercial Conveyancing sector.

Afi often acts for high net worth clients looking to buy and sell high value properties in prime real estate affluent areas. He has an extensive range in; Property Finance, Property Litigation, Landlord and Tenant, and Commercial Property, before finding himself doing more conveyancing work. His Landlord and Tenant experience remains particularly relevant to the extensive leasehold legal changes which are taking place within the UK. His litigation background helps him to identify and avoid potential problems in transactional work.

To compliment the property services Afi provides his commercial and residential property clients, he also advises on all aspects of lending. He is experienced in dealing with institutional lenders as well as a wide variety of bridging companies in respect of financing provided on acquisitions. Afi advises on all aspects of loan documentation, the structuring of finance as well as the suitability of security. His experience includes acting on the financing of nursing homes, children’s nurseries, hotels, retail premises as well as share acquisitions and development funding.
